Other users on that forum should know how to answer your questions, so you may actually end up getting your question answered a lot faster that way. (that means less time spent on searching for suggestions, more time developing.) We are notified every time something is posted, so we don’t need to scour the web for questions on one forum or another. If you’d like us to change or add something to our products though, and I hate to sound like a broken record, you’ll need to say something about it on our forum. If none of those fit your needs, by all means set the settings to how you like them, and then click File->Save in your V-Ray Render Options in Rhino. By default they should be in your C:\Program Files\ASGvis\Options folder on your hard drive. There’s a couple settings that come with the plugin by default, they should have the file extension of. So we finally decided to just let you save out your own settings, and share them with whoever you want. We’ve tweaked the default settings quite a bit, to end up where it’s at now, and just like yourself, there’s a few other folks out there that feel those settings don’t quite fit their needs. Almost every person that uses our plugin has an opinion of how the default settings should be set, and unfortunately, it makes it rather difficult to decide which people’s preferences we should cater to. PaulS2- Default settings has been a rather hot topic.
I’m hoping to be able to get both the material exporter, as well as this other exporter for max released around the same time, so it’s been a bit hectic. I was working on another type of exporter for V-Ray :). Hey guys, sorry I wasn’t around yesterday. From me just playing around for a while, I found that pumping up the multiplier on the spotlight helps, but again, without seeing what you’re working with, it’s hard for me to recreate and diagnose the issue.Įmail me at and I’ll send you a scene…also maybe you can send me a simple one you ‘know’ works. If I do come across a solution, I’ll be sure to pass it along though. If it can’t be answered there, I’m not sure where it could be answered.
Right now there’s 8062 Members on our forum, and every single one of them is using V-Ray for either Rhino or Sketchup. And again, the best place to get that question answered is on our forum. If nothing else, a render or screen shot would help. I completely understand what you mean by “the initial ‘first date’ is too awkward” and we’re working on making the learning curve less of an issue.Īs far as your issue goes, I’m not really sure exactly what is going on, but if it is a bug, it helps a great deal for us to have a copy of the scene that has the problem. Not to say that this the way that we want it, it’s just how it is at the moment. All of the reference materials that we offer at this point, should be available on our site. PaulS2- Yes, unfortunately as of right now, there isn’t a whole lot that comes with the plugin that explains how to use it.
